Sunwise Sunnies Rock….

Sunwise Sunnies Rock….

Mar 21, 2011

By Fleur Stoops

Spring is her and the sun is finally coming out. The big question before any ride is what sunnies to wear. Two questions I ask myself, how strong is the sun and how good do I want to look. Doesn’t everybody?

So, what sunnies do I like to wear on the bike? When racing, I like to have a set of interchangeables in the race bag. The weather can often change and there nothing worse than having the wrong gear. With the interchangables, you can clip the lens out and pop in the appropriate ones.

I have the Odyssey model at the moment, gold frame, although they do come in a variety of frame colours. Each frame comes with 3 sets of lightweight, shatterproof, polycarbonate lenses. So whatever the weather is doing, you get the best visibility.  The frames are flexible and lightweight and it’s so easy to change lenses. I’ve had some other interchangeables before that have made me swear whilst trying to pop the lenses out…not these ones.

If you’re looking for a great, value for money pair of interchangeable for under £30, I can recommend these.

Model: Supergrass White, Category 2

Off the bike, I still need to look after the eyes, so I have just bought a pair of these. Supergrass model. pearl white frame, adjustable nosepad and rose polycarbonate lenses.  They have category 2 lenses, so ideal for medium sunlight conditions.  They are comfy, look good and are affordable. They also come in a black frame with a darker lens, category 3

All sunwise sunnies (from our shop) come in a hard protective case, so they won’t get scratched in the bag.

Sunwise sunglasses are very affordable, which means that you can own a few pairs.  For a set of Oakleys you will pay anything in excess of £100, for that money you can have 3-4 pairs of Sunwise sunnies that look just as good. I have my eyes on the Green Shipwreck polarised glasses next, they will definitely make me stand out on the bike, oh yeah.
