RuTrainingToday are pleased to announce the National A cycle race around Roadford reservoir in the beautiful county of Devon. The race distance will be 140km over rolling terrain and some two short fearsome 16% climbs, the course has over 650 metres of climbing per lap and there are three laps. This will be one of the biggest sporting events to hit the Devon countryside since the Tour of Britain in 2010.

The standard of the race will attract some the world’s best professional teams and will include past and present world champions and local professionals such as Plymouth’s John Tiernan Locke riding for Rapha Condor Sharp and Devon’s Yanto Barker riding for Pendragon Le Col Colnago.
Plymouth’s newest cycling team Primal Europe who are currently ranked 2nd in the UK will also be racing and hoping to bring the top prize back to Plymouth.
These and others will make the race a spectacle worth watching over a coffee or beer in one of the many public houses or coffee shops around the course with the best possibly being at the reservoir itself with its own café and parking facilities.
The race could not happen without the professional approach of the sponsors who have put their hands in their pockets to raise the £2000 prize fund. These include local company Pendragon who support many social cycling events, cycling holidays and of course their own professional team. Others include CNP Professional who provide the nutrition for the worlds best professional team SKY cycling and finally local Plymouth company www.matchfit.org who will provide funding, massage and first aid cover on the day.
