The club have organised a cycle race around the Great Orme Llandudno North Wales on the 30th of September 2012.
This is not a race for the faint at heart it is a 7 loops of a closed road totalling 35 mile with fantastic prizes both in cash and goods.
This is a race which you will remember the first time you complete it and will return year on year , do not miss this opportunity to be the first, you will be part of a cult.
It also attracts the BC points that you strive for or maybe you may want to knock into the long grass others that think they are fit.Throughout the 1960′s and up to the late 80′s, the Great Orme was a regular fixture in the Tour of Britain Cycle Race, known as the Milk Race back then. It is steeped in cycling lore and bared witness to numerous accounts of extraordinary will and endurance. We are trying to revive some of that sense of wonder and awe that came from the race back then have put on an event which will not only exceed expectation and set “the bar” at a new height but to also showcase Llandudno as a vibrant, dynamic and energetic place to live and visit. The race is being promoted on a National scale via the British Cycling website and numerous social media outlets, including magazines, local radio, Facebook, etc. I have managed to garner support from a number of local business, and 2 national brands, who are keen to be affiliated with the event and assist with local, community based enterprises.
It is our hope that this could become an annual event.
All proceeds after expenses will be donated to Ty Gobaith childrens hospice.
A road closure has been granted
Look forward to seeing you on the day and please pass to those who you feel are capable of doing this course justice.
Many Regards John Clayton07825 292972
